Belgrade - Main Areas

Belgrade is divided into 17 districts, but there are 3 main areas of the urban part of the city: Old Town, New Belgrade and Zemun. Every area has its own spirit and charm. New Belgrade is the newest part of the city, home of many modern buildings and important city’s events. Zemun was a separate town in 19th century, and today it is a part of Belgrade, but it kept its characteristics of small old town. Old Town is the heart of Belgrade and home to the most of city’s attractions. All these areas has numerous caffes, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, dance stages, which make nightlife in Belgrade an unique experience.
Belgrade includes 16 river islands, of which Ada Ciganlija and Great War Island are the largest and the most popular. In the summer thousands tourists and citizens occupy these areas and enjoy in sports and entertainment activities.
There are taxis, regular city buses, hop on hop off buses, city trains and small boats which make easy to discover any part of Belgrade. You can also rent a car at affordable prices.
