Climate in Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic has tropical climate. Annual average temperature in Dominican Republic is about 25°C (77°F). At the mountains and hills, average temperature is about 18°C (64°F). At the seashore average temperature is 28°C (82°F).
Extremely low temperatures of 0 °C (32°F) are rare in the mountains and extremely high temperatures of about 40°C (104°F) are possible in some valleys. The coolest period of the year is between January and February, while the hottest month is August.
Wet season in Dominican Republic lasts from May to November, but at the northern part wet season lasts from November to January. May is usually the wettest month. Tropical cyclones strike Dominican Republic every couple of years, and usually southern coast of the island.
Hurricanes are rare and weak. They are most likely during August, September and October.
