The Palm Islands and The World

The Palm Islands are artificial peninsulas, located in the Persian Gulf, off the coast of Dubai, UAE. Each peninsula has shape of palm tree. These islands are Palm Jumeirah, The Palm Jebel Ali and The Palm Deira
The Palm Jumeirah is the smallest and the original of three Palm Islands. It has trunk and crown with 16 palm branches. These palm is location of Atlantis, majestic five-stars hotel in arab style. The resort has Aquaventure theme park, conference center and Dolphin Bay, aquarium and retail space.
Another unique project in Dubai is The World. It is artificial archipelago of small islands in the shape of world map. The project was idea of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. The World was completed in five years. It is a collection of 260 islands, private and commercial.
