Beaches in Los Angeles

Los Angeles has two main beaches: Venice Beach and Cabrillo Beach. Both beaches attract hundreds of thousands visitors every week.
Venice Beach is a three mile long sandy beach which is crowded not only during the summer season. Venice Beach offers best street entertainment in California. You will find musicians, singers, mimes, comics, acrobats and many other entertainers on the street. There are also tennis courts, courts for basketball, valleyball and handball, near Venice Beach. Numerous restaurants, fast food restaurants, shops and stores are located along the street. Venice Beach is a favorite place for surfers and skateboarders. Muscle Beach is an open air gym, where you can see many body builders or watch weekly body building competitions.
Carbillo Beach is a popular as a sandy beach, surfers paradise, but also as an exploration center and large Cabrillo Aquarium. Carbillo Exploration center consists of several parts: Watershed, Coastal Habitats, Worm’s Eye View of Mud, Crawl-Under-Tank, Naturalist’s corner, Breakwater and Discovery Center. There are numerous volunteers who will guide you through center and answer any of your questions. Cabrillo Marine Aquarium offers you to research and educate about underwater world in California.
