Oia Village

Oia is the most popular and the most picturesque village of Santorini. It is known as a quite place with fantastic sunsets and one of the most beautiful places on the island. Oia is situated about 10 kilometers from Fira – capital of Santorini.
Oia is located on the top of great cliff and has to offer wonderful views over the volcano Palia, volcano Nea Kameni and the island of Thirassia. Main beauty of a village are its houses and other buildings. Narrow streets are dotted with charming houses, magnificent blu domed churches and beautiful verandas.
There are a couple of fine restaurants in Oia that serve international cuisine, but local taverns and cafes are attractions of the village. Taverns in this village are famous for its tasty meals of fresh saltwater fish.
Many artists painted Oia and that’s one of the reasons why Oia has numerous art galleries.
One of the most beautiful beaches at Santorini – Armenis is located here.
Local port Ammoudi has small boats which can take you to the island of Thirassia.
