Beaches in Toronto
There are three beach areas in Toronto. The most popular is The Beach neighbourhood, also known as The Beaches. Otherwise, Toronto has more then 240 neighborhoods. The Beach is located on the east end of the Old Toronto, Toronto’s downtown. This area includes four beaches: Woodbine Beach to the west, Kew Beach and Scarboro Beach in the centre, and Balmy Beach to the east.
Parkdale is located on west of downtown. It was founded like particular village and became part of Toronto city in 1889. Numerous art galleries, restaurants, cafes and convenience stores are located in Qween Street West. Victorian homes can still be found here.
South shore of Toronto Island is third beach area. This popular recreational destination is car-free area. There are several swimming beaches on the islands such as Centre Island Beach, Manitou Beach, Gibraltar Point Beach, Hanlan's Point Beach and Ward's Island Beach.
